How Are Different Colors Made?

Part 2

Primary colors: red, yellow, and blue.

Primary colors are the main colors that all other colors are made from by two of these colors.

Secondary colors: orange, green, and violet.

Secondary colors are two of the primary colors mixed in equal parts- yellow and blue =green,
red and yellow = orange, red and blue=violet.

Tertiary colors: are two colors that are mixed in equal parts, a primary color and a secondary color to make a third color.
Yellow and green =yellow green
green and blue=blue green
blue and violet = blue violet
violet and red = red violet
red and orange = red orange
orange and yellow= yellow orange
This video went over Complementary colors like: red and green. Colors across from one another on the color wheel.
Analogous colors like: orange,red orange,red. Three colors next to each other on the color wheel.
Split-complementary with colors like: red, yellow green, blue green. The colors on both sides of the green and the red.
Triad colors: red,yellow, blue. It can be any three colors that are evenly spaced like these are.
The square and the rectangle both use four colors. For the square, colors like: yellow orange, red, blue violet, and green. The rectangle could use these colors: yellow, red, violet, and green.

If you choose to use different shades of the same color, they are called tints, shades and tones.
Tint is adding white to the color blue,blue,blue, blue.
Shade is adding black to the color green, green, green, green.
Tone is adding gray to the color gray, gray, gray,gray

This is why it is difficult to choose colors for your home. There are so many colors to choose from. All the different groups of colors that you can choose from. If you are using groups of colors, what color do you want more of and the rest are used as accents.
