1.Is your home ENERGY WISE? Does your home measure up? Windows can make a big difference when it comes to saving energy in your home. Do they need to be replaced? One way to know is if your windows are drafty. If it is yes, then that means it is harder to keep your home warm in the winter, because they let the cold air in. In the summer when you are trying to cool your home, the cool air goes out the windows. This means the heating and cooling cost goes up a lot. The money that you save in energy cost would go a long way to helping you up date the windows. It might even come close to paying for it's self to replace the windows.
Choosing the right windows
* Look for the energy star symbol
* How easy are they to clean from the inside?
* Is the installer licensed and has no complaints against them?
2. The next way would be to add insulation to your Attic and walls
Choosing insulation
* Different parts of the country need more insulation than others, the colder areas need more - that is only reasonable.
* Is the installer licensed and has no complaints against them?
3. Keep drafts from coming around the door, with weather stripping.
When looking for new homes look for the energy star to see if the house will be energy wise or not.
The energy star label was created by the environmental protection agency (EPA) and the U.S. department of energy (DOE) to help consumers quickly and easily identify windows and other products that save energy.
Now it is time for you to do the energy wise things. I would like to hear what you did to make it better for you and your home. Leave a comment. I would like to hear from you.
